Who Can Request Equipment?

We periodically have refurbished devices available for students, low-income individuals, community organizations, and educational programs. Availability varies based on donations, but we work hard to match equipment with those who need it most.

Available Device Types

The equipment we have available changes frequently based on donations. Typical devices include:

Laptops

Business-class ThinkPads, Dell Latitudes, and HP EliteBooks with Linux or Windows

Desktops

OptiPlex, ThinkCentre, and similar business systems with monitors

Peripherals

Monitors, keyboards, mice, and other accessories as available

Device availability is entirely dependent on donations we receive. We cannot guarantee specific models, specifications, or timeframes. However, we will work with you to find the best available match for your needs when equipment becomes available.

How to Request a Device

Email us at CDAC@consultant.com with a brief description of your situation and technology needs.

Provide Information

We will ask for basic information about your circumstances, intended use, and any specific requirements.

Wait for Availability

We will notify you when suitable equipment becomes available. This may take several weeks depending on donations.

Coordinate Pickup or Delivery

Once matched with a device, we will arrange for pickup in the Charlotte area or discuss shipping options.

What is Included

All devices we provide have been:

  • Securely wiped and tested
  • Equipped with a fresh operating system (typically Xubuntu Linux or Windows when licensed)
  • Verified to be in working condition
  • Provided with power adapters and basic peripherals when available

Please note: Devices are provided as-is without warranty. While we test everything thoroughly, older refurbished equipment may have cosmetic wear and limited remaining lifespan.
